It’s official – Blairgowrie Riding for the Disabled has the best coach in the whole of the UK!
We are so proud to announce that Andi Bruce has been named Coach of the Year in the prestigious national Riding for the Disabled Association annual awards.
With more than 3000 RDA coaches across the UK, it’s an absolutely incredible achievement and one that is richly deserved.
Andi’s award is in recognition of her outstanding contribution to coaching and for being an inspirational and positive role model to Blairgowrie RDA’s participants and volunteers alike.
As well as coaching our group, Andi is a county coach for Tayside and regional coach for RDA West and Central Region.
She said: “I was very humbled that Blairgowrie RDA thought me worthy of being nominated and more so to have progressed through the stages to the final. I never thought this would be possible as I knew of two others who were also nominated and were both very strong candidates.
“When I learned that I had then gone on to win this incredible accolade, I was speechless – and that doesn’t happen often!
“This award is testament to the invaluable and rewarding work that Riding for the Disabled does in communities throughout the country. I am so proud to play a part in helping people achieve their goals and enjoy the benefits of horse riding.
“I can’t thank everyone at Blairgowrie enough for believing in me. I thoroughly enjoy my time at the group and that’s definitely due to everyone who volunteers there genuinely wanting to be there, which makes my role easy. And not forgetting our ponies for being such a fabulous, fantastic and brilliant asset to our group.”
The judges commented: “We were truly blown away by the number of nominations this year. It’s a privilege to be part of such a fantastic community, filled with dedicated, inspiring individuals who make RDA what it is.
“A huge congratulations to all our winners, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who was nominated. You are all making a difference.
”
